31.05.14 Ben Quilty – Saatchi Gallery, London

Ben Quilty was declared the overall winner of the inaugural Prudential Eye Award for Contemporary Art in Singapore in January 2014. In addition to winning his category of painting from over 500 nominees, Ben will stage an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery London in July 2014. The award celebrates and supports emerging artistic talent across greater Asia.

Ben’s exciting first London exhibition will showcase his works from predominantly public galleries in Australia and precedes an extended painting residency in Paris in 2014.

The Sydney Morning Herald on the success of Australian galleries, including Jan Murphy Gallery at Art Basel Hong Kong: “Danie Mellor, has had a positive reaction from Eastern audiences to his work, on display at Art Basel HK in a solo showing with Brisbane’s Jan Murphy Gallery. Inspired by the blue and white of ceramics that originated in the region but were ”appropriated” by British pottery brand Spode in the 1700s, Mellor feels he is bringing the colour palette he employs back to its true home in showing here.”

09.05.14 Danie Mellor – Art Basel Hong Kong

We are proud to announce the gallery will be representing Danie Mellor at the prestigious Art Basel Hong Kong. International clients will have the opportunity to view a new collection of Mellor’s works in the Insights section of the fair.
