Guy Maestri in Commemorative ANZAC Exhibition

Guy Maestri is one of 16 Australian and New Zealand artists involved in an exhibition commemorating the ANZAC legend and the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign.

Your Friend the Enemy, concurrently exhibited at S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney and the ANU Drill Hall in Canberra during April and May will later tour to Bathurst and Auckland.

For Guy Maestri, the exhibition began with a tour of Gallipoli before returning to the studio to paint a series of memento mori still life paintings featuring native Australian flora and parrots, skulls and shrapnel found on the battlefields of Gallipoli.

One of Guy’s paintings also features on the cover of a special edition Artist Profile publication documenting the exhibition.
