William Mackinnon’s work has been featured on the cover of Good Weekend Magazine in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. Recently featured at Sydney Contemporary Art Fair, William Mackinnon’s ‘From the acorn to the oak’ was selected as the cover image of the annual ’52 Weekends Away’ edition. The painting was inspired by a visit William and his partner made to Sydney’s Rose Seidler House, designed by the late architect Harry Seidler for his mother.
As described by the artist, “The painting sits somewhere between nostalgia for a country we no longer call home and the fantasy of a place we might one day design and live in.”
