An article profiling Richard Lewer’s Steve, has been published by The New Daily (online). In the article, writer Liz Hobday discusses the premise for the Steve project which was commissioned by the National Gallery of Australia and incorporates an installation of paintings on pre-loved Formica table tops and an animated video. The paintings and video tell the life story of Steve, a Greek immigrant whose world (and that of his family) was transformed following a Dementia diagnosis. Lewer got to know the family through working with Steve’s son at a boxing a gym.
