To coincide with his forthcoming exhibition, Don’t forget to breathe, Jan Murphy Gallery and Art on James will be hosting a special evening with Archibald Prize winning artist, Richard Lewer at Harveys on Thursday 29 October.
For his latest project, People In Your Neighbourhood, Richard has turned his attention to James Street, spending time getting to know the people, places and everyday stories that give the precinct its character. The outcome is a new series of 60 drawings that capture the personalities of the neighborhood accompanied by his own observations and anecdotes.
A selection of these drawings will also appear throughout James Street from 29 October – 12 November. The dinner at Harveys will include an in-conversation component with Dr Lisa Slade, and guests will receive a limited edition zine featuring the drawings and accompanying stories.
Richard’s forthcoming exhibition, Don’t forget to breathe, will be open at Jan Murphy Gallery from 28 October – 14 November. To register your interest, please contact the gallery.
