Work by Juz Kitson is featured in Craft Victoria’s latest curatorial collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria. The exhibition ‘Jugs’ presents works by twenty acclaimed artists and makers, all working with ceramics to explore the classic form of amphora, affectionately known as jugs. After almost a decade of working within the field of ceramics, Kitson recently began creating intricate urns that re-imagine the vessel form and challenge material in new ways. The urns often embody characteristics of the human or animal body and ultimately become ‘beings’ that exist in any given space and on their own terms.
‘Jugs’ coincides with ‘NGV x Craft: Vessels for Melbourne Now’, featuring exceptional works from some of Australia’s leading ceramic artists.
