Mark Tweedie in the John Stringer Prize

Protégé artist, Mark Tweedie, is a finalist in the 2020 John Stringer Prize with his work ‘One is the loneliest number (Misery Beach)’. Established in 2015 in honour of the late John Stringer, this award commissions six artists to create new work from which the winning artist will be determined by a secret ballot. The artists in this year’s prize work across a range of media including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, textiles and video. The main objective of the John Stringer Prize is to recognise excellence in Western Australian visual art practice.
