I Remember You is a new online exhibition by Protégé artist, Mark Tweedie. Presenting a series of meticulously rendered small-scale oil paintings, the artist has focused on capturing childhood as an inimitable period of innocence and freedom.
As described by Tweedie, “the works celebrate this precious and carefree initial stage of life before we are shaped, refined, influenced, and often, damaged from traversing adolescence and adulthood.”
Mark Tweedie lives and works in Perth and has been working as an artist full time since 2013. He was recently announced as a finalist in the 2019 Sunshine Coast Art Prize and in 2018 completed a residency in Glaziers Bay, Tasmania. He was also the inaugural winner of the 2016 Tony Fini Foundation Artist Prize at the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s Black Swan Prize, and has been a finalist in the Kilgour Prize (2014, 2017, 2018) at Newcastle Art Gallery.
