Michael Cook in ‘Power suits: The fit within the frame’ at National Portrait Gallery

Works from Michael Cook’s 2014 series, Majority Rule, can be seen in ‘Power suits: The fit within the frame’, at the National Portrait Gallery. Bringing together a range of collection and loaned works, this exhibition includes painting, mixed-media and photography spanning from 1930s to today. With a somewhat ubiquitous presence in portraiture, the suit and the concept of power dressing, are explored in depth in this exhibition, which also considers how the suit mirrors changing perceptions of identity and status.
