Congratulations to Michael Cook, who has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 National Photographic Portrait Prize with his work, Walkabout. One of Australia’s leading awards for photographic portraiture, the National Photographic Portrait Prize brings together some of the country’s most compelling contemporary photographic practice each year.
The winner will be announced at the exhibition opening on 22 August at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, with a selection of works from the exhibition travelling to regional galleries across Australia in 2027.
