Natasha Bieniek has been named as the winner of the 2015 Portia Geach Memorial Award for her miniature oil painting ‘Sahara’ 2014. Presented at S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney, the non-acquisitive award of $30,000 is in it’s 50th year and recognises excellence by Australian women artists in contemporary portraiture.
This year’s judges were Eleonora Trigunboff, Art Publisher and Trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Samantha Meers, Trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and Jane Watters, Director of S.H. Ervin Gallery.
An exhibition of the finalists will run from 18 September – 25 October 2015 at S.H. Ervin Gallery.
