A new exhibition featuring works by Richard Lewer, ‘I only talk to God when I want something’, continues at Geelong Gallery. This exhibition brings together a selection of works from a number of Lewer’s previous pivotal series including ‘Confessions’ (2024), ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ (2023) and ‘Stations of the Cross’ (2007-2008). ‘I only talk to God when I want something’ explores how the artist has drawn upon his lived experiences of religion, specifically Catholicism. A new work inspired by the Last Judgement which has been commissioned be the Geelong Gallery is also on display in the exhibition.
